Arlington firefighters battled an overnight blaze at a palatial home along N Cooper Street in Arlington, Texas over the weekend.  Officials are saying the fire started in the basement of the 9,445 square foot residence which caused the first floor to collapse.  The Star-Telegram reports that the owners’ caretaker reported the fire around 2:00 am, and firefighters put out a fourth alarm at 2:43 am.  CBS DFW noted nearly 60 firefighters & 19 units were involved in putting the fire out.

The mansion was built in 1994 on an 11.28-acre estate complete with guest homes, ponds, a putting green, tennis court, and swimming pool.  It had previously been listed for sale in 2009 for $9,999,999.  According to the Tarrant Appraisal District website it’s valued just under $2,600,000.  There were no injuries reported.
