‘Chelster Hall’ – Canada’s Most Expensive Home Will Cost You $65-Million CAD
1150 Lakeshore Road East, Oakville, Ontario, Canada
Welcome to Chelster Hall, the most expensive private home currently on the market in Canada and possibly one of the largest. Priced at $65-million CAD, it is $18.2-million higher than the next most expensive home in Canada which just so happens to be a in Vancouver, BC. After a decade of residing in Oakville’s legendary lakefront property, Hugo and Tracy Powell have decided to start a new chapter in their lives and allow a new owner to continue the story of their beloved Chelster Hall Estate. The construction of Chelster Hall was not without roadblocks, the home’s original design would have been a total of 54,000 square feet but was scaled back to meet the town’s regulations. Architect William partnered with Fil Cpuano on the construction who felt it was both an honour and a privilege to be a part of the Powells’ beautiful vision. In order to ensure that the main goal of the project was met, Fil constructed the entire home out of concrete, 2,800 cubic metres of concrete to be exact. At 47,000 square feet, Chelster Hall offers 6 bedrooms, 8 bathrooms, a private chapel, a two-storey library, an indoor swimming pool, bowling alley, home theatre, and numerous entertainment-sized living areas. One of the most wonderful attributes of Chelster Hall is its fast potential. While for the past ten years it has been operating as a home, there are so many roles it could and so many services it could provide. It’s on the market for $65-million with Christopher Invidiata with The Invidiata Team.
