The owners of this stately stone manor in Princeton, New Jersey first commissioned Island Architects to design a vacation house, impressed with their work, they commissioned Island Architects once again to design their main house in 2012. The 9,600 square foot home sits secluded and private amongst forest on a 4 acre property just minutes from downtown Princeton. The level of detail and quality is evident as soon as you pull up and extends into the interior. The recessed double arched front door provides an intimate arrival with exterior woodwork, stone detailing and ornate windows while the grand entry sets the tone for the elegant yet comfortable interiors. There is a large mahogany panelled study with spiral staircase, fireplace and a generous amount of book storage and display shelving. Large family gatherings are a breeze in the custom gourmet kitchen and dining in style in the lovely panelled dining room is a treat with plaster cove ceiling and charming inglenook with oversized stone fireplace. An intimate light-filled breakfast room is just steps from the kitchen and accessed through a panelled arch. There is also a large wood-panelled recreation room with custom bar, gathering area, billiards and poker table. Additional features include extensive decking and patios as well as a court-yard style outdoor pool and hot tub.
