Malibu’s 16,000 Sq. Ft. La Villa Contenta Back on the Market for $62M

26880 Pacific Coast Highway, Malibu, California, United States, 90265

A sprawling Malibu compound with breathtaking views over the Pacific Ocean that reportedly sold for $50,000,000 just last year is back on the market for $62,000,000. It also seems the property has been reduced to 4.47 acres from 6.57 acres. The iconic Malibu compound, known as La Villa Contenta, was built in 2002 and previously on the market as much as $75,000,000. It’s reported that Jay-Z & Beyoncé rented the luxe property shortly after the birth of their twins last summer for close to $400,000 a month. Later that year, the couple purchased a 2 acre hillside estate in Bel Air for $88,000,000. La Villa Contenta is not only a celebrity hotspot but also a popular filming location. Productions such as True Blood, Funny People and I Love You, Man have all filmed at the ritzy property. While the 12,000 square foot main house with hand-carved limestone entryway, a ballroom and hand-laid mosaic floors is quite spectacular on its own, it’s nothing compared to the estate’s one-of-a-kind natatorium. The Romanesque building that houses the indoor pool is nothing short of spectacular, with changing rooms covered in rare onyx, a pool tiled in Murano glass and over one million seashells adorning fixtures in the room. The space will leave a lasting impression. The property also includes a lovely outdoor pool overlooking the ocean and reportedly one of the largest private greenhouses in California. La Villa Contenta was built by real estate developer Richard Weintraub and includes close to 16,000 square feet of space with 13 bedrooms and 14 bathrooms. It’s currently on the market for $62,000,000 with Chris Cortazzo and also available to rent for $450,000 per month.
