Mansion Featured in ‘Once Upon A Time’

If you’ve ever seen the hit tv show ‘Once Upon A Time’, you may recognize this stately mansion as the home of Mayor Regina Mills.  The home plays a big role in the show and can be seen numerous times throughout Season 1, and the start of Season 2 which airs Sundays on abc.

It’s set on a prominent street in the historic city of New Westminster.  It was designed in 1936 with a Colonial Revival style, by the prominent Vancouver architectural firm Townley and Matheson for John H. McDonald.  The home stands out from its’ neighbours as it’s on a substantially larger lot with manicured lawns, gardens, and even a three car garage.  NWHeritage notes that, “Colonial Revival characteristics include the paint scheme of white siding with green shutters, the dentillated cornice, Palladian windows grouping with dentils and pilasters, and the eight double hung windows.”

Pricey Pads visited the house this past month.
