A 35,000 square foot mansion in Salt Lake City is set to go to auction on May 4, 2013.  The auction is being conducted by DeCaro Auctions and will be sold to the highest bidder without reserve.  The palatial mansion was designed for insurance executive Ron Gunnell and his family in the late 90s.  The property had originally gone up for sale in 2005 for $29 million and at the time he told Deseret News that he and his family were looking to downsize to something around 10,000 square feet.  The mansion is said to include marble flooring imported from Carrara, antique fireplaces, a two-storey library, home theatre, and 50 interior columns.  It’s unknown if Gunnell is still the current owner of the property.

Open houses will begin Saturday, April 6th and will continue every Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 – 4:00 PM until the auction date.  A final preview will be held on Friday, May 3rd from 1:00 – 4:00 PM, the day before the auction.  Stay posted to Pricey Pads for full details on this unique offering!
