Tour a Stone Manor in Greenwich, CT by Shope Reno Wharton

Greenwich, Connecticut, United States

This Shope Reno Wharton project is one that has intrigued us for quite some time. With very little information released about the property, it took a little longer than originally anticipated to track down on Google Maps. We knew it was designed by Shope Reno Wharton, built by Hobbs, Inc., decorated by Thomas Pheasant and landscaped by Gregory Lombardi Design. We also knew it was located somewhere in Greenwich. Needless to say, after scouring the maps for a period of time we did find it! According to Zillow, the 3.35 acre property last sold in September 2007, prior to being redeveloped, for $11,750,000. Zillow now estimates the value to be a little over $22,000,000. The home is reportedly a little over 10,000 square feet with four bedrooms, seven full and one half bathrooms and sits on a lush property with tennis court and two driveways leading to separate motor-courts. Perhaps the most interesting characteristic of the home has to do with the exterior architecture and roof design. The steep gables and dormers do a fantastic job at making the home appear much larger than it actually is while the five stone chimneys add incredible height. A steep conical roof on the rear of the home also adds a lot of interest. North Shore Window & Door also worked on the home, supplying windows and doors. The finished project is right off the pages of Architectural Digest. If you happen to know any additional information about this project please don’t hesitate to send us an email!
