To most people this 2,950 square foot house would make a great place to raise a family.  It’s centrally located in a beautiful established neighbourhood in the Dunbar area of Vancouver about 24 minutes from downtown, offers a lush 0.20-acre lot, and is in close proximately to parks and schools.  The home was built in 1934 and offers 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, and a fully finished basement – what’s not to love?  CBC News reports that the home came on the market at $2,848,000 and in less than 24 hours sold for $3,038,000.  Re/Max agent Wayne Hamill told CBC News that they had received multiple offers all from people interested in developing the property.  CBC News also noted that the last time the home sold in 2000 it went for just $739,000.  BC Assessment has the home valued at $2,490,000 ($2,386,000 for land & $104,000 for the building).
