One of Greenwich, Connecticut’s great historic estates has sold for $10.2 million – substantially less than what it sold for just 4 years ago. Known as North Court, the 3.75 acre property includes a fabulous English-style manor dating to 1906. The 115-year-old residence listed in the fall of 2016 for $20 million and by 2017 had an accepted offer of $22 million. The sellers at the time, Drew Aaron, CEO of the Aaron Group, and wife Hana Soukupová, a Czech supermodel, purchased the historic home on 3.75 acres for $8 million in 2012. The couple commissioned designer Mark Cunningham to completely reimagine the interiors, a process that would take 2.5 years at a cost of more than $7.5 million.Â
Architectural Digest covered the project in 2016 before it hit the market, “Care was taken to salvage moldings and plasterwork. And while the crew opted to occasionally alter things like the location of hallways or the size of door frames, it was all done with an eye toward how it might have been when the house was built.” The bright and welcoming interiors include large formal rooms, a striking dining room with adjacent family room and a total of 7 bedrooms, 8 full and 3 half bathrooms. Surrounding the manor are 3.75 acres of lush property. Private and secure with gates and a tree-lined drive, the yard opens to amenities such as a swimming pool, tea house, covered loggia with fireplace, lighted tennis court, formal boxwood gardens and a carriage house that can be used as a separate office with gated entry. North Court was on the market for $10.9 million with Shelly S. Tretter of Compass.
