1913 Architects Root & Siemens-Designed Neoclassical Manor Facing Demolition
4526 Warwick Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64111
Designed by Kansas City, Missouri-based architects Walter C. Root and George M. Siemens of Root & Siemens and built in 1913 for a prominent businessman in the dry goods industry, this brick Neoclassical manor is now facing demolition. Situated in close proximity to the historically designated Southmoreland neighborhood, this property is located in the heart of Kansas City, Missouri. Currently zoned as residential, the brick manor is being demolished in hopes of being marketed as commercial land use. A permit has been issued by the city to cut utilities and water. An auction has also been posted online selling miscellaneous interior doors and mouldings. According to our source, no concrete plans have been presented for future use and this is purely a speculative demolition. We urge our readers/followers to help us in contacting the Kansas City Historic Preservation Commission to assist in putting a pause on the permit to demolish this historic home so that a more comprehensive assessment can be completed.
