200 Acre English Country Estate in Atlanta, GA by Architect William T. Baker
Set on a sprawling 200 acre property, this English Country estate is said to be one of the most extensive in its region. The property was developed by Atlanta-based Land Plus Land Planning & Landscape Architecture with architect William T. Baker creating a substantial stone English-style manor as the focal point. Set on a raised bluff with a western exposure, the home enjoys lovely views of the property and extensive gardens. Interiors, designed by Suzanne Kasler, feature massive wood front doors with hand-forged iron strap hinges, a dramatic two-storey oval foyer with winding staircase and elliptical dome above, formal living room with antique Carrera marble mantle and dining room with a hand-painted wall covering that was imported from China. The main house is constructed of Tennessee fieldstone, Indiana limestone and Vermont slate. Photos by James Lockheart.
