7 Insanely Priced Vancouver Homes

“White Picket Fence” – $949,000

2270 E 10th Ave, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, V5N 1Y2

This has got be one of the saddest looking homes we’ve ever seen.  White picket fences are supposed enhance and brighten your home, not make it look like a haunted house.  The 2,060 square foot home is described as being in “original condition” and sits on a 6,039 square foot lot.

“A Vancouver Special House” – $955,000

1764 E 64th Ave, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, V5P 2M7

For $955,000 I’d expect the home to be in nearly perfect condition and to be somewhat of a showpiece.  Not in this case.  The agent writes, “House is still in a livable condition but needs of bit of TLC.”  That sounds like a house I want to spend $955,000 on.  Situated on a 5,124 square foot lot, this home offers just over 1,600 square feet.

“Old Timer” – $949,800

6080 Tyne Street, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, V5S 3L4

This 2,150 square foot home is said to have a fully renovated main floor in very good condition and a newer double garage with a building permit.  I wasn’t aware a permit is a selling feature, isn’t it mandatory?  The downside is that the basement has to be upgraded to a secondary suite, and the exterior is just plain ugly.  It sits on a 5,973 square foot lot.

“Very Solid and Liveable” – $1,038,000

2485 E 51st Ave, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, V5S 1P7

Three bedrooms and one bathroom is all you get for $1,038,000.  This 2,330 square foot house sits on a 4,756 square foot lot in the “absolutely prime Killarney” area of Vancouver.  The agent describes it as “still very solid and liveable.”

“No Renovation Has Been Done” – $1,288,000

2732 E 51st Ave, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, V5S 1R1

You’ve just won $1,000,000 on Lotto 6/49 and realize you still can’t afford this house, which by the way has not been renovated but as the agent says, “very livable and good condition.”

“Bright & Clean” – $1,249,000

6249 Fleming Street, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, V5P 3G7

Choosing the words “bright” & “clean” to describe this house is just ridiculous.  I think “dark” & “dingy” better suit it.  The agent has not provided any interior shots to back up the logic behind “bright” & “clean” either.  Believe it or not this 2,033 square foot house is currently rented for $2,100/month.  It sits on a 5,551 square foot lot.

“Partly Renovated” – $1,048,000

3237 Coleridge Ave, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, V5S 3A6

This “partly renovated” family home offers just over 2,000 square feet with two bedrooms and two bathrooms on a 4,026 square foot lot.  Even at $1,048,000 the agent notes, “Hurry this one won’t last.”
