A Look at Murphy & Co’s Exquisite Jacobean Manor in Minneapolis, MN
Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States
Architectural firm Murphy & Co worked closely with Anderson | Reda, Twist Interior Design and Topo, LLC to create a substantial Jacobean Manor just outside Minneapolis, Minnesota. It took a little searching but we did end up finding the location. Property records reveal the 8.63 acre estate, complete with large pond, originally included a modest 6,400 square foot ranch home dating to 1941 prior to selling in 2012 for $2,400,000. It had been on the market as much as $6,900,000 in 2010. The team of architects, designers and builders transformed the site over a three year period, bringing a slice of the English countryside to Minneapolis. We’ve managed to track down a collection of exterior photos showing off the detailed design and exquisite finishing as well as a vast series of interior photos. The home’s large circular driveway is made of Belgian block and leads through an impressive porte-cochère to a motor court complete with five garage bays. Here’s what Murphy & Co had to say about the project, “Built with permanence out of natural materials, this English Country Estate is crafted as an heirloom home that will span generations. Situated on a picturesque rolling property, the house & orderly gardens are designed to work seamlessly as one. The interiors are architecturally historic yet youthful & fresh, suiting this large family’s wish for a house that forgoes stuffiness and welcomes understated charm.” Be sure to check out another Murphy & Co home that we featured in 2016.
