Arkansas’s Dromborg Castle Pulled From Auction Drops to $4.9M, Prev. $15M

2991-2999 S City Lake Road, Fayetteville, Arkansas, United States, 72701

Arguably one of Arkansas’s premiere estate properties, Dromborg Castle is the result of a talented team of architects, designers and builders who were commissioned to create the dream home of Bruce and Joan Johnson. No expense sparred in the design, construction and finishing, the result, nothing short of spectacular, has been a happy place where friends & family have gathered and doubled as a venue to host philanthropic events for up to 200 guests. After sitting on the market for several years, owners Bruce and Joan enlisted Concierge Auctions to sell the substantial residence to the highest bidder with no reserve. We were closely watching the auction which was originally to commence on July 9, 2019 at 5:00 pm before being rescheduled to July 11, 2019 at 5:00 pm. When we followed up with the auction it was then adjusted to July 13, 2019 and now the page is displaying bidding closed, available for offers. Dromborg is still very much on the market at the greatly reduced price of $4,900,000. Completed in 2008 with more than 4,000 tons of rock, the Dromborg’s design aesthetic was inspired by Scottish castles of the 13th century. The towering castle offers over 13,000 square feet of space with 5 bedrooms, 4 full & 1 half bathrooms, and a substantial 2,200 square foot great room with dining area for 14+, sitting areas, a gourmet kitchen and breakfast nook. White River engineered and manufactured all millwork, mouldings, corbels and doors. A 770 square foot library is finished with natural Cherry, 12 Corinthian columns, custom cabinets and 3 pairs of French doors leading to a loggia and patio, while a fourth floor 70 foot observation deck takes in 300 degree views of 70% undeveloped forest and farmland. Few homes come close to the quality and level of detail that you will see at Dromborg. World class musicians have been invited to play within the walls of Dromborg, including Fayetteville’s own Jura Margulis who played a Bechstein grand piano for guests. Dromborg Castle was to be sold without reserve on Concierge Auctions online marketplace with bidding opening July 11, 2019 at 5:00 pm July 9, 2019 at 5:00 pm but was pulled at the last minute. The property was originally on the market for $15,000,000 and most recently for $8,700,000. It’s currently on the market for $4,900,000 with Keller Williams Market Pro Realty – Fayetteville.
