After undergoing two auctions the very unique Bolze mansion has finally sold for $1.8 million to Regions Bank.  Regions did own the note property, but likely bought it outright to protect their investment.  The property had previously sold to Gary Spiezio for $1.93 million but fell through when he couldn’t meet the financing requirements.  About two dozen people showed up at the Sevier County Courthouse to witness the auction of Dennis Bolze’s 14,000 square foot mountain estate.  Bolze was sentenced to 27 years in federal prison for his involvement in a large Ponzi scheme that netted over $21 million.  The estate was built in 2006 and offers high end living including 4 levels, an elevator, extensive custom railings and woodwork, five fireplaces, a spiral staircase that wraps around a tree trunk spanning all 4 levels, home theatre and a custom built 200′ wood automobile bridge which leads to the 4 car garage.  Reports suggest the homes value could be in the $16 million range.
