c.1892 W. Irving Clark House by Frank Lloyd Wright Reduced to $999K
It comes as no surprise that the W. Irving Clark House in La Grange, Illinois is contingent and pending sale. Besides dropping to a rather appealing $999,000, the nearly 4,000 square foot historic home is believed to have been a collaboration between famed architects Frank Lloyd Wright and E. Hill Turnock, both draftsman at the time at the firm Adler and Sullivan. The residence is included on the Frank Lloyd Wright Trust website, noting, “The house features an inglenook with a tiled fireplace, typical of Wright’s early residences. The tall front gable of the house is punctuated in the center by a Palladian window, reminiscent of that found on the façade of Wright’s Oak Park home.” Despite being renovated and updated over the years, many of its original features and details have been preserved. The floor-plan includes beautiful original woodwork, pocket doors, extensive built-ins, leaded and stained glass windows and four original working wood-burning fireplaces. The home sits on a 0.34 acre lot and includes five bedrooms, two full and one half bathrooms. The W. Irving Clark House was recently reduced to $999,000 and is currently contingent with a pending offer. It’s listed with Judy Ellison of Coldwell Banker.
