Christine McConnell has just done what so many of us dream of. The baker, artist and internet sensation purchased a towering 19th century Italianate mansion on 2.83 acres in Ilion, New York – sight unseen! She revealed the purchase in a 16 minute video on her YouTube channel, explaining that she has lived in California her entire life and had been searching for a “spooky old Victorian manor on the East Coast.” If you follow McConnell on Instagram or YouTube you’ll know she already lives in a fabulous home full of charm. “The original plan was to sell it but once it started looking so amazing as I was getting it ready to actually sell, I decided, maybe I just want to hold onto it.”

The former star of the now cancelled series, The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell, started a YouTube series of her own in 2019, called From the Mind of Christine McConnell, alongside a Patreon account, where loyal fans can subscribe and donate for exclusive content. Over 9,000 patrons support McConnell monthly and in part helped her obtain the new residence. We did some sleuthing and found that the new house is 5,300 square feet with 5 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms and sits on a lush 2.83 acre property with carriage house. Built in 1866, the mansion listed on July 1, 2020 for $329,000 and by August 6, 2020 a full asking offer had been accepted. We’ve included a selection of listing photos below but if you can’t get enough and just need to see more, McConnell also released a candlelit tour of the interiors on Patreon revealing the mansion’s extensive history and architecture!
