Classic Beaux-Arts Mansion in Jacksonville, FL by Morales Construction Co.
Jacksonville, Florida, United States
Architect William Leuthold Architect Inc. collaborated with Florida-based builders Morales Construction Company, Inc. and interior designer Catlin Design to create a stunning classical residence on Ortega’s riverfront. Catlin Design gave some insight into the project on her project page, “The client’s Cuban heritage re-inspired coloration, shown in richer hues of purple, and the client’s collection of Cuban modern art, add a unique modern element of surprise in defined areas of the home.” Enjoying stunning views of the river and downtown Jacksonville, the interiors showcase a timeless design with ornate mouldings, a sweeping staircase and comfortable entertaining spaces. The design of the exterior was inspired by Newport, Rhode Island’s historic Rosecliff mansion designed by McKim, Mead, and White in 1898. The grounds include gardens, a swimming pool, dock and a lovely waterside gazebo. Photography by Deborah Whitlaw Llewellyn.
