Classical Manor House in New Jersey by Peter Pennoyer Architects

New Jersey, United States

With offices in both Manhattan and Miami, Peter Pennoyer Architects has been designing incredibly detailled private homes around the country since 1990. The 50-person firm, made up of architects, interior designers and related professionals, is recognized as a leader in new construction, renovation and historic preservation. The firm recently designed an incredible new classical stone residence sited in a verdant valley facing a river on one side and a spring-fed stream on the other. Peter Pennoyer Architects discussed the project on Instagram, “Though all of the structures are new, they are intended to suggest growth over time and placed on or near the footprints of prior buildings that comprised a working farm since the 1910s.” The vast property was designed and developed by landscape architect Miranda Brooks and includes a walled garden, gates and expansive vegetable garden. The project page revealed, “On the interior, the ample scale of the rooms allowed for a robust program of moldings and paneling that take classical traditions as a starting point for a more ebullient and voluptuous style.” Photography by Eric Piasecki.
