A brand new contemporary spec mansion known as Sky Lane has sold in Los Angeles for $23.5 million after first listing in June 2019 for $42 million. The 16,700 square foot residence was designed by architectural firm de Loren & Associates and built on a 1.06 acre hillside lot to take full advantage of Downtown Los Angeles and ocean views. Impressive in scale, quality and execution, there’s no doubt Sky Lane offers pretty well every amenity and feature available, from an Italian marble driveway to a glass-walled elevator and a rooftop garden and auto gallery with space for twenty vehicles. Completed in 2019, the residence hit the market in June 2019 for $42 million, was reduced to $36 million in September 2019 and was recently reduced to $30 million before selling for $23.5 million.

There is a lounge deck, 75′ long glass-tiled infinity pool, Japanese-style zen garden and a 300 tree fruit orchard. Interior details include a custom Toshi Kawabata piece of artwork, live green wall, a 650-bottle wine cellar, 13-seat home theatre, three custom designed bars, a custom Gaggenau kitchen and impressive master suite with dedicated lounge areas. Here’s what the architect had to say about the project, “Cutting edge 17,000 Square Feet modern hillside residence located in Brentwood, West Los Angeles and situated above the Getty Museum, with breathtaking views of Los Angeles and the Pacific ocean. Complex hillside engineering challenges created a state of the art structure with ultra luxurious amenities such as 15 parking spaces on the roof, exterior commercial speed glass elevator, 10,000 square feet of flat yard, 75’ infinity edge pool, movie theater, wine cellar, entertainment room, and a lighting system that mimics nature. Truly one of a kind 21st century ultra modern architectural gem.” Sky Lane includes a total of seven bedrooms and eleven bathrooms in a nearly 17,000 square foot footprint on a 1.06 acre property in Los Angeles. Sky Lane had most recently been on the market for $30 million with Fredrik Eklund of Douglas Elliman.
