Courtyard Estate in Hinsdale by Pursley Dixon Architecture

Hinsdale, Illinois, United States

A collaboration between North Carolina-based firm Pursley Dixon Architecture, Andrea X Burridge Interiors, Craig Bergmann Landscape Design and builder David Knecht Homes resulted in this beautifully detailled brick manor. According to architect Pursley Dixon, the residence was inspired by an H.T. Lindeberg design in nearby Lake Forest, Illinois. Set on a generous corner lot among equally impressive custom homes, Pursley Dixon designed the residence around a central courtyard with access to two separate streets. “The home presents itself to the street with a seductive yet modest manner. With its layered entry, the house is simultaneously mysterious and elegant. The openness of the large courtyard welcomes family and guests while also providing light to internal rooms of the home.” The bright and airy interiors incorporate both classic and contemporary elements with the main floor hosting an array of comfortable entertaining rooms, an eat-in gourmet kitchen and lovely sunroom.
