Craig Ramsey’s $49M Oceanfront Estate is Maui’s Most Expensive

9 Bay Drive, Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii, United States, 96761

A substantial private estate nestled on 10 acres overlooking Hawea Point and Kapalua Bay on Hawaii’s island of Maui has hit the market for $49,000,000. It is currently Maui’s most expensive piece of real estate and the second most expensive in Hawaii – right behind Kauai’s Hale ‘Ae Kai estate which is on the market for $70,000,000. It belongs to Craig Ramsey, founder of cloud software company Vlocity and former board member of Salesforce. Ramsey purchased the property in 2000 for close to $14,000,000. He spent an additional $10,000,000 on a recent total home remodel with $500,000 alone going into the Ludowici tile roof, according to Realtor. Built in 1996, the home was designed to seamlessly blend the interiors with the tropical gardens and the panoramic ocean views. There is close to 12,000 square feet of space with a large central courtyard, covered patios and walkways and an impressive swimming pool overlooking the ocean. The great room opens to a sheltered lanai and the pool deck below, all perfectly situated to watch Maui’s spectacular sunsets. There are 8 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms, including an impressive master suite with luxurious ensuite opening to the garden. The Wall Street Journal noted that the estate does have some land subject to public easement, allowing people to cross the property to get to a nearby rock formation. The public land was formerly owned by the U.S. Coast Guard and includes a small lighthouse. The most expensive home ever sold on Maui went for $41,800,000 in 2015. This property is on the market for $49,000,000 with Sotheby’s International Realty
