Drew Barrymore Lists 278-Year-Old New York Retreat for $5 Million in New York

$4,995,000 | 1748 | 7,274 Sq. Ft. | 6 Beds | 9 Baths | 11.8 Acres

Just two years after purchasing it as a serene escape from Manhattan, talk show host and actress Drew Barrymore is listing her spectacular 11.8-acre estate in Harrison, New York, for nearly $5 million as The Wall Street Journal first reported. The property perfectly blends 18th-century roots with Barrymore’s signature eclectic, colorful design aesthetic. Barrymore bought the circa-1748 Colonial in 2024 for $4.4 million, seeking a nature-filled sanctuary that didn’t require the long commute of her previous Hamptons home. What began as a plan for cosmetic updates quickly turned into a massive, two-year gut renovation. There is a great room with 30-foot ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a glass-domed, sunlit conservatory. The home boasts more than five fireplaces and a completely engineered, light-filled kitchen. The property—one of the largest lots in southern Westchester—offers a secluded, compound-like feel while remaining just 35 minutes from New York City. Beyond the main residence, the estate features a guest cottage and a pool house. While Barrymore poured her heart into the estate—curating spaces that echo the warmth of her “Beautiful by Drew” home brand—she recently decided to list the property alongside Compass agents Kori Sassower and Brian K. Lewis due to her family’s changing needs. Today, this deeply personal, 280-year-old legacy property awaits a buyer looking for historical charm combined with turnkey, modern luxury.
