Montecito, California, United States

Talk show host & comedian Ellen DeGeneres and wife Portia de Rossi (Arrested Development) have purchased a historic villa in Montecito for $26.5 million according to TMZ.  The residence known as Saladino Villa dates back to the 1920s when it was designed by architect Wallace Frost.  The 10,000 square foot villa includes 6 bedrooms & 8 bathrooms.  Luxurious amenities include a huge stone motor court with antique Venetian statuary, a guest apartment, nine fireplaces, 18th-Century Spanish entry gates, and a new roof made of fourteen thousand 18th-Century Italian tiles.  The 13-acre park-like estate features spectacular gardens, an atrium, ocean-view swimming pool, and a sun drenched lawn highlighted with a 2,000 year old Roman column.  DeGeneres sold her 15,000 square foot Beverly Hills mansion in early 2012 for $37 million before purchasing Brad Pitt’s Malibu home for $12 million.  She also owns a ranch in the Thousand Oaks area of California which she frequently talks about on her show.
