Former Facebook COO Sells 1917 Tudor Revival in Palo Alto, CA for $40M

A sprawling nearly 11,000 square foot Tudor Revival mansion on a 1.12 acre property in Palo Alto, California has sold for nearly $40 million after a little over a year on the market. It was owned by former Facebook COO Owen Van Natta, who purchased the property in 2011 for $9 million. He spent several more million renovating and making the historic residence his own. Van Natta commissioned Northwall Builders and interior designer Ken Fulk to upgrade the property with every conceivable amenity and contemporary convenience. We searched for old listing photos and managed to track down a handful in this Business Insider article. It was built in 1917 and offers 10,877 square feet of space with five bedrooms, seven full and one half bathrooms. 

The transformed spaces include grand-scale entertaining rooms with detailed mouldings, tracery ceilings and contemporary lighting throughout. There is a modern light-filled kitchen, a luxurious master suite, a grand staircase and walkout level with exercise studio and recreation area. The elegant grounds include English-style landscaping, a swimming pool, pool house, tennis court and a lengthly motor court. Van Natta, who is also the former CEO at MySpace, former Executive Vice President of Business at Zynga and is one of the founders of 415, LCC, reportedly has a net worth of $400 million.
