Greensboro, NC’s Historic c.1935 Ayrshire Mansion Reduced to $2.9M

$2,900,000 | Built c.1935 | 10,696 Sq. Ft. | 4 Beds | 4.5+ Baths | 2.88 Acres
3215 N Rockingham Road, Greensboro, North Carolina, United States, 27407

A historic Cotswold Tudor on a 2.88 acre estate on Sedgefield’s famed Donald Ross golf course has been reduced to $2,900,000. The 1930s mansion was previously on the market for $3,750,000 in 2011. Steeped in history and detail from a bygone era, the 10,696 square foot brick manse includes butterfly pegged floors, wood & plaster mouldings, leaded glass windows, solid wood beams and a marble wall fountain in main hall. An article from 2011 reveals that the home was designed by Sanford Ayers, the architect uncle of current owner, Jere Ayers, and built by his parents, Nathan and Nell Ayers, in 1935. It remained in the family and he returned to raise his children in the residence. They’re now looking to pass the home onto another family. The lower level includes a bonus room with fireplace, kitchenette and adjoining rooms, while a connected breezeway leads to the garages and guest quarters with two bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom. There are four bedrooms, five full and one half bathrooms in the main house. The 2.88 acre estate includes beautiful grounds with stone terraces and a herb garden. Ayrshire is on the market for $2,900,000 with Katie Redhead. Just last year we lost Greensboro’s Adamsleigh mansion to demolition. The 17,000 square foot Tudor Revival mansion designed by architect Luther Lashmit and built c.1930 for textile baron J.H. Adams was demolished by Jason Harris. Learn more here.
