It is rare that such a unique house goes on the market in Old Town Bay Saint Louis. A perfect craftsman bungalow, circa 1909, on the first block of Washington St. Two stories. Flood zone X. A half block to the beach and sea wall. This bungalow is set on a gorgeous and oversized lot with 150 feet road frontage and 130 feet deep. This lot is over half an acre! The yard is lush with many trees, and there is a gorgeous live oak in the front on the eastern side of the house. A spacious L shaped front porch gives welcome, and the impressive south facing Dutch door opens in to a sitting room with fire place. Beautiful original windows let in an abundance of natural light. Gorgeous hardwood floors throughout the house. Behind the sitting room is a marvelous dining room with painted beams and coffered ceilings, and strikingly painted wood paneled walls. A secluded and private porch opens off of the dining room facing the back of the house.
Off of the sitting room, in the front of the house, is a music room with built in shelves, and seating along the wall, offering another intimate and cozy place to light. The primary bedroom is downstairs and adjacent to a meticulously renovated tiled bathroom with a walk in shower. Off the front hallway is a spacious den opening on to the kitchen. The kitchen has stunning sinker cypress cabinets, gas cooktop, two ovens, and soap stone counters. Off of the kitchen is the back hallway, a half bath, and stairs to the second floor. A U shaped landing upstairs, a full bathroom, and two bedrooms each with a bank of windows. There is a large cedar closet and a floored attic. Stroll downtown Bay Saint Louis along the sea wall to the municipal marina, shops, restaurants, coffee houses, galleries, and all the entertainment Bay Saint Louis has to offer.
