One of the more unique homes in Jerome, Arizona is set to be auctioned starting on June 26, 2020 after two years on the market. Concierge Auctions will open bidding at 6PM EDT in a no reserve auction with an opening bid expected at $2 million – $4 million. The 12,398 square foot residence is currently on the market for $5.8 million and originally listed in August 2018 for $6.2 million. The New Haven Register reported in 2018 that the original 40-room hotel, known as The Little Daisy, was built in 1919 by Little Daisy Mine owner “Rawhide Jimmy” Douglas and was designed by architects Royal Lescher and Leslie J. Mahoney. The property was later sold to scientist, William Earl Bell, who is known for his work leading to the creation of the world’s first atomic clock. The estate remained in the Bell family until the mid-1990s when it sold to Walter and Lisa Acker for $190,000. At this point the residence was in a state of disrepair and required an entire overhaul. The Acker family spent 12 years redesigning and thoughtfully putting the residence back together.Â
