Fashion designer Johanna Ortiz has put her stamp on her sophisticated vacation home in South America. Ortiz opened her home to Elle Decor in 2018 revealing vibrant interiors filled with antiques. The fashion designer worked with architect Patricia Mejía for nearly a year on the renovation. The Spanish Colonial villa dates to the 16 century and rises two-storeys with carved wood and painted concrete. Elle Decor revealed, “The home’s original hand-painted tile floors and wooden details were restored, while a swimming pool was added to the terrace.” Ortiz commissioned muralist Eloin Rivera to paint a tropical mural in the home’s salon. The home also includes an elegant entry with Mexican cement tiles, original vaulted terrace, a new swimming pool and master suite showcase blue hues. Photography by Ricardo Labougle.
