American actor and comedian Jim Belushi has reduced his Mediterranean-style mansion in Brentwood, California on an expanded 1.31 acre property to $36.5 million. The property was previously available as a 0.85 acre parcel for as much as $42 million and again in 2017 for $38.5 million. The current property is said to be one of the largest single estates in Brentwood Park. Belushi commissioned architect Oscar Shamamian and designer Michael Smith to design and build the 14,371 square foot residence in 2010. Off a cobblestone driveway, and generous motor court, the residence offers 6 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms, including a detached guest house, and pool house. Details were sourced the world over, including reclaimed roof tile from Venezuela, reclaimed fireplace mantles and tile floors of Italian terra cotta, custom ironwork, Moroccan glazed bathroom tiles and hand-hewn American hardwood flooring. Each of the sun-drenched first floor rooms leads to the home’s tranquil Mediterranean gardens, enormous grassy lawns, serene patio areas, pool, jacuzzi, cold plunge, & sauna. Additional amenities include a screening room, sauna, extensive walking paths, two outdoor fireplaces, jacuzzi and cold plunge pool. The property is on the market for $36.5 million with Elisabeth Halsted of Berkshire Hathaway.
