Knoxville, Tennessee’s landmark Villa Collina has been reduced to $9.75 million after selling at auction in 2016 for a little more than $6 million. The 40,768 square foot mansion was built in 2000 and first listed in 2010 for $21 million. According to Knox News, Eric Barton, CEO and president of Maryville-based Vanquish Worldwide, was the winning bidder in 2016. Barton told Knox News, “I bought it because it is an iconic Knoxville home and I want to turn it into something that will benefit the community,” he said. “We might be able to open it to events for nonprofit organizations or for fundraisers or something like that.” It seems those plans never materialized as the property relisted in 2018 for $15 million. The residence was designed by architect Karengaye Johnson and built in 2000 for Mike and Deane Conley. There’s more than 40,000 square feet with an additional 13,800 square feet of terraces all set on 8.2 acres overlooking the Tennessee River. Amenities include indoor and outdoor pools, a spa, ballroom and gym, lower level wine cellar and tasting rooms, an incredible library set on 3 level, 11 fireplaces, 4 dining rooms, 2 bars and 7 garage bays. The property has also been featured in countless movies and television shows including the 2016 film “Dog Years”, HGTV’s Million Dollar Rooms and Extreme Homes. Villa Collina is on the market for $9.75 million with Debbie Elliott-Sexton of Alliance Sotheby’s International Realty.
