900 W North Street, Aspen, Colorado, United States, 81611
After more than ten years of ownership, Lance Armstrong has decided to list his gorgeous home in Aspen, Colorado for $14.5 million. The infamous cyclist built the nearly 6,000 square foot residence in 2008 with his fiancée Anna Hansen where they raised their two children. Armstrong told Architectural Digest in 2019 that Aspen’s coveted West End neighbourhood restricts homeowners to building two stories tall. He explained that most of the square footage is downstairs and in an underground basement. The home is undeniably welcoming with open living spaces finished in warm woods with large windows and French doors opening to several patios and a fenced side yard. Armstrong is an avid art collector with an eclectic mix on display throughout the residence. Just off the main entrance is a dining room flanked by French doors which Armstrong described as being “like most American dining rooms, in that, you never use it.” Beyond the dining room is a large gourmet kitchen with tall ceilings, a large island and towering cabinetry with dual refrigerators. No detail was overlooked in building this custom home, all bedrooms are oversized and have their own private baths. The upper level includes a balcony with a hot tub, a light-filled office which doubles as Armstrong’s podcast studio which opens into the luxurious master suite. The lower level includes two mini-master suites, kid’s bedrooms, an elegant living room with fireplace, wet bar and a wine cellar. There are a total of 5 bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms throughout the home. It’s on the market for $14.5 million with Douglas Elliman.
