Liberace’s Former Las Vegas Mansion For Sale
Las Vegas, Nevada, United States
The sprawling Las Vegas mansion once owned by entertainer Liberace has just come on the market for $529,900. The nearly 15,000 square foot spread was built in 1962 and features 2 bedrooms & 10 bathrooms on a 0.48 acre lot. AJC notes that Liberace purchased the residence in 1974. One of the bedrooms is highlighted with a ceiling adorned with a $1.6 million reproduction of Michelangelo’s painting at the Sistine Chapel according to The Daily Mail. Following his death in 1987 the home was sold by his foundation to a married couple. The home then exchanged hands again in 2006 when it was sold for an inflated $3.7 million. The property went into foreclosure in 2010 and was seized by JPMorgan Chase. It’s listed at just $529,900 as a foreclosed bank owned property. In May an HBO movie called ‘Behind the Candelabra’ was released about Liberace & his lavish lifestyle, however this home was not used in the film.
