Locust Valley, New York, United States
This impressive limestone and granite English style manor on a 5.21 acre property in Locust Valley was designed by Glen Cove, New York based architectural firm Smiros & Smiros Architects. The Harrie T. Lindeberg-inspired facade blends Boston granite and Indiana limestone that was cut onsite and authentically coursed, resulting in a striking exterior. Interior details include a circular marble entry with winding staircase nestled in a panelled well and accented by a two-storey window, a large gourmet kitchen and vaulted living room with stone fireplace. A long hallway traveling the length of the house connects the entry hall to a formal living room at the end & family quarters at the other. Smiros & Smiros Architects designed the nearly 12,000 square foot residence in 2004 abutting a private golf course. A decade later, the original owners put the property on the market for $7 million and sold that same year for $5.4 million.
