American football quarterback, Matthew Stafford, and wife, Kelly, have relisted their custom Upper Long Lake home for $6.5 million. The Detroit Lions quarterback purchased the 12,000 square foot residence in 2013 for $4.2 million. Jeff Barker, associate broker at Max Broock Realtors told MLive, “When I sold them the home in 2013, it was prior to them having any children. Now they have three kids with a fourth on the way. They are looking at other homes in Michigan that are not lakefront homes without pools.” Designed by architect Lou DesRosiers and built in 1980, the contemporary home was expanded to 12,000 square feet in 2016. A two-storey foyer, walls of windows, granite floors, a gourmet chef’s kitchen and a sumptuous main floor master suite are just some of the features. MLive reported that the property comes complete with the largest infinity pool in the entire state. Additional amenities include a glass elevator servicing all three floors, 5 fireplaces, a 625 bottle wine cellar with glass ceiling and an indoor half basketball court with the original floor the Detroit Pistons played on when they were at the Pontiac Silverdome. The court was installed in the home prior to the Stafford family purchasing it. The 1.27 acre property includes 441′ of frontage on Upper Long Lake with access to Lower Long & Forest Lake. It’s on the market for $6.5 million with Jeff Barker of Max Broock.
