A brand new modern spec mansion designed by Standard Architecture in Hollywood Hills has been reduced to $28.5 million after hitting the market in May 2020 for $32 million. The 11,184 square foot minimalist home is said to have been inspired by Louis Kahn’s Kimbell art Museum and showcases three parallel gabled volumes centered by an astonishing 30′ great room. Each of these volumes encloses different essential spaces and opens to an outdoor patio sited on a spectacular promontory overlooking the city. The architects incorporated elements such as timeless wood, concrete and stone to create warm and cozy interior spaces. There are 6 oak-accented bedroom suites, 9 marble-clad bathrooms, a master suite with dual closets, home theatre and a 20′ x 73′ infinity pool. It’s all brought together by timeless travertine paving and simple landscaping that culminates in an infinity pool, accentuating the feeling of being suspended in the sky, high above Los Angeles, yet still in the comfort of home. The property is on the market for $28.5 million with Sally Forster Jones of Compass.
