A 1920s Normandy-style manor set on an expanded 8.69 acre estate in Greenwich, Connecticut’s historic enclave of Khakum Wood has hit the market for $11.5 million. Alternatively, you can purchase a reduced 5.83 acre estate for $8.5 million. The property has been on the market since 2014 for as much as $16.8 million. The 13,000 square foot stone manor was designed by architect Harrie T. Lindeberg and built in 1927. The level of architectural detail and finishes has been wholly preserved from exquisite plaster mouldings to hardware and lighting specifically designed by Mr. Lindeberg for the home. Its wonderfully scaled rooms include a 19′ x 39′ grand living room with chestnut and pine cathedral ceiling and an unusually large knotty pine panelled library. Details such as the lead-paned windows, Ludowici tile roof and splendid fireplace mantels exemplify the architectural merit of this pre-war masterpiece. Mansion Global reported in November 2019 that the sellers are only the second owners of the property and have been in the home for 45 years. There are 7 bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, 10 fireplaces, patios and a lovely swimming pool. It’s on the market for $11.5 million with Robin Kencel of Compass.
