7500 Ironwood Lane, Warrenton, Virginia, United States, 20186

Known as North Wales, this 1,471 acre estate includes a beautifully restored plantation home with 22 bedrooms and 13 full & 3 half bathrooms. The historic property has a history dating to 1776. Other amenities include a two-storey stone carriage house, a guest house, equestrian and farm facilities, swimming pool and a shooting preserve. Property records show the property selling in 2015 for $21 million to David B. Ford, a former Goldman Sacks partner. According Fauquier Now, the estate was previously purchased by real estate tycoon Michael V. Prentiss in 1997 who took exceptional care of the property. During his ownership the estate was placed under a very restrictive conservation easement with the Virginia Outdoors Foundation preventing future development. Other previous owners include Walter P. Chrysler who purchased the property in 1941 for $175,000 and invested over $7.5 million in improvements, it then changed hands when it sold to Arkansas investor John A. Cooper at a bankruptcy auction in October 1967. North Wales is on the market for $29.9 million with Stephen McLean of McLean Faulconer Inc. Photography and information found on agent’s listing.
