Plas Cilybebyll

Set in a spectacular secluded location with idyllic woodland views, Plas Cilybebyll is an impressive French Chateau style property.  Dating back to the early 15th Century it offers luxury and privacy at the highest standard, whilst still maintaining the original character of this historic estate.  This estate has been thoughtfully planned with well chosen suites in each of its bathrooms.  The first floor offers three luxuriously renovated en-suite bedrooms and two further bedrooms sharing a large family bathroom.

The second floor has a further en-suite bedroom and three additional bedrooms sharing a bathroom.  The kitchen is the heart of the house with luxury features including an Aga, large kitchen island, underfloor heating and state of the art appliances.  Plas Cilybebyll itself boasts many impressive features, not least of which is the 32′ indoor swimming pool, providing that extra little bit of luxury to an already splendid property.  The house also has its own drawing room, dining room, library and study.

Plas Cilybebyll has a recorded history of an estate and its inhabitants from the beginning of the 15th Century.  In 1838 the estate was the largest in the local district.  The main façade of the house results from a major amount of remodelling circa 1840 creating a South-facing Victorian style property with an ode to a French Chateau.  The works were undertaken principally by a Henry Leach who administered the estate for the early 19th Century.  The Lloyd family is reported to have taken residence in 1873, with Herbert Lloyd taking a very active role in public life.

In 1878, in recognition of his contribution to various committees, he was presented with an oil portrait which hangs in the drawing room of the property to this day.  The house has been substantially extended and sympathetically renovated throughout. Modern additions and amenities have been introduced but always with respect to the original character of the property. It is evident that the owners have been very conscious of their responsibility to preserve a very rare piece of history.
