Teaneck, New Jersey, United States
The owners purchased the original home on a 1.06 acre property in Teaneck, New Jersey for $2,825,000 in 2006. They then commissioned Mitchell Studio and Nordic Custom Builders to design and build a new 11,000 square foot residence in its place. By 2007 the original home had been reduced to rubble and the new mansion was under construction through 2010 and finishing in 2011. The design and build quality are impressive for new construction with interiors reminiscent of a bygone era. A panelled foyer with herringbone wood flooring showcases a grand staircase leading to a substantial landing equipped with built-in bookcases and large bay window with window seat. Undoubtedly a wonderful place to relax and curl up with a book! Interior photos are limited but reveal a lovely living room with bay window and intricate mouldings, a double-height gourmet kitchen topped with a skylight and intimate den with a carved fireplace mantel. Additional amenities include a large gymnasium and indoor pool wing with an opening wall and a series of large skylights. The new residence is set on a tree-lined street studded with both new and older historic homes. Photography by Mitchell Studio and Nordic Custom Builders.
