Mobile, Alabama, United States
Alabama-based architectural firm Walcott Adams Verneuille has been designing custom homes for over thirty years, each with their own distinctive characteristics. Their portfolio is vast, ranging in style and size from modest cottage-style homes to large estate properties and beyond. While all of their work is admirable, we fell in love with this large residence backing onto the Country Club of Mobile. Information is limited but Realtor.com reveals the residence spans approximately 6,290 square feet with six bedrooms and four bathrooms on a 0.46 acre property. The project is marked as a renovation on Walcott Adams Verneuille’s Houzz page and includes the substantial main house as well as a detached garage with what appears to be accommodation above. Access between the two structures is accomplished via a covered gallery. The classical architecture continues throughout the interior with substantial columns, a barrel vaulted ceiling, a collection of formal living spaces and a large gourmet kitchen with herringbone flooring and center island. The rear of the home opens up to the large patio with swimming pool overlooking the Country Club of Mobile. Photography by Ted Miles Photography.
