Rob Lowe’s Oakview Estate in Montecito, CA Drops to $42.5M
Montecito, California, United States
American actor Rob Lowe and wife Sheryl have re-listed their sprawling Montecito dream estate for $42.2 million. The couple previously had the estate on the market for $47 million in 2018. It’s known as Oakview, named after substantial oak trees on the property, and spans 3.4 acres complete with manicured gardens, an outdoor kitchen, two bedroom guest house, 800 square foot pool cabana, a championship tennis court with two viewing areas and lovely views toward the Pacific Ocean. The East Coast-style residence spans 10,000 square feet with 6 bedrooms, 8 full and 3 half baths as well as an array of comfortable living areas suited for both formal and informal engagements. Architect Don Nulty, landscape architect Mark Rios and feng shui master David Cho combined their considerable talents to create the peaceful estate, sparing no expense and overlooking no detail or amenity. Oakview was featured on the cover of Architectural Digest’s 2010 issue, with Lowe saying, “I’ve always been drawn to a historic, East Coast American aesthetic, but a house also has to be comfortable, able to withstand the simultaneous traffic of teenagers playing football on the lawn, barbecuing on the patio, me slipping off to write.” Montecito is also home to celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey, Drew Barrymore and Al Gore. Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi recently sold their home in the neighbourhood. Oakview is on the market for $42.5 million with The Agency.
