334 Cabbage Inlet Lane, Wilmington, North Carolina, United States, 28409
If you’re a fan of Melissa McCarthy’s work and have seen the 2014 film Tammy, then you’ll likely remember the gorgeous shingle-style home used in the production. It belonged to Lenore (Kathy Bates) and Susanne (Sandra Oh), who throw a large 4th of July party at the property. There’s no shortage of screen time showing off the gorgeous home. Designed by architect Alex D Latham III and built by David James, the coastal home was designed for entertaining and features a main house with 6,900 square feet and 2,400 square feet of patios and decks. A detached guest house over the three car garage offers an additional 900 square feet. It sits on a 2.17 acre property with 700 feet of waterfront at the mouth of Whiskey Creek and the ICWW. Additional features include a large freeform salt water pool, Kolbe & Kolbe hurricane windows and doors and a floating dock with four boat slips and a lift. The property was listed as a Home of Distinction in Wrightsville Beach Magazine’s September 2009 issue and was recently re-listed as one of the Best Homes of Distinction in the January 2015 issue. The house can also be seen in the July 2015 issue of Better Living. The property has been featured in the following films; “A Walk to Remember”, “Mary and Martha” (with Hilary Swank), “Tammy” (as Lenore’s lake house) and the Nicholas Sparks movie “The Choice.” It last sold in 2017 for $3,295,000.
