Texas Billionaire Slashes Private Eagle Mountain Lake Compound to $5.999-Million
7941 Summit Cove, Fort Worth, Texas, United States, 76179
Texas billionaire John Goff has slashed the price of his gorgeous lakeside compound from $8.995-million to $5.999-million in hopes of finding a buyer. The property gets its name, Mariposa del Lago, or “Butterfly of the Lake,” from to the monarch butterfly migration that annually frequents the grounds. Goff, who is the founder and current Chairman and Ceo of Fort Worth-based Crescent Real Estate Holdings, had originally hired New York City-based Concierge Auctions to auction the estate without reserve in late 2015. It’s unknown what came of that auction, but the property was re-listed on the open market in January of this year for $8.995-million before dropping to $5.999-million about a week ago. The 1.43-acre estate sits in a secluded cove off the banks of Eagle Mountain Lake just 30 minutes from Downtown Fort Worth. The property was brought to life by the A-list talent of Richard Drummond Davis, David Lewis, and Architectural Digest Top 100 Designer Joseph Minton, who together created a unique piece of lakeside real estate. “We created a place where all of our children would want to come; the gathering place for holidays and the axis point of all major events,” Cami Goff told Concierge Auctions. “It was not an easy decision to sell, as we’ve poured our hearts into Mariposa del Lago. Every detail was meticulously thought out, materials selected, and executed by one of us personally. But, we decided that the timing was right to pass the keys to the next family who will cherish this estate and create their own memories and traditions to last a lifetime, just as we have.” The 6,993 square foot residence includes 4 bedrooms & 4 bathrooms, as well as exceptional formal living areas featuring beautiful stone work, beamed ceilings, and include a gourmet kitchen, and lovely dining room complete with wet bar. Large windows, French doors and balconies line the back of the estate, extending the indoors to thoughtfully-designed outdoor living spaces that span the lakefront property, which also includes a Moroccan-inspired, 1,500-square-foot-plus guest cabana with a lower-level bunk room overlooking the lake. Steps from the cabana is a one-of-a-kind entertainer’s two-level boat dock complete with entertaining areas & grill with bar. Inside and out, every square foot of this property is custom designed and created with only the best of materials. Don’t miss your chance to call this lakeside retreat home. It’s been recently reduced to $5.999-million with John Zimmerman.
