This Utah Ski Lodge by Anthony Baratta is Unlike Anything You’ve Seen Before

Utah, United States

New York-based interior designer Anthony Baratta is known in the design world for his use of bold colours and busy patterns to create whimsical interiors bustling with personality. His unconventional design methods are exactly what put him on the map with iconic designs being featured on over sixty magazine covers worldwide. We found this rustic ski lodge perched on a mountain in Utah with a gleaming red double door, the only hint that this was not your typical mountain home. Graced with iron detailing, the doors open into a warm and inviting entry setting the tone for this bold and playful residence. A warm palette is set off in the home’s two-storey living room with custom chairs and ottoman, a custom mantel by Thomas W. Newman and a ceiling finished in Yarmouth Blue by Benjamin Moore. The formal dining room showcases a substantial table by Thomas W. Newman, custom chairs in a green Keleen leather and Lois D. Chernin fabric and an extraordinary custom Adirondack style cabinet with crown glass detail by Arden Creek Designs. The space also includes oversized lanterns, plaid details and wainscoting made from birch bark. It’s hard not to fall in love with each space. They are all so different yet connected in various ways. Moving into the kitchen you’ll notice a bold diagonal black and white checker pattern on the floor, backsplash and wall tiles by Solar Antique Tiles, built-in pizza oven and a hard-to-miss bright red Viking range. The vaulted master suite features a ceiling in a custom woven plaid with a Madeline Stuart bed, antique Victorian furniture and checkerboard carpeting. There are also a collection of guest suites, each designed in a very specific set of colours and patterns, a charming ski room with custom bench and a modern exercise room with mountain views. Anthony Baratta’s style isn’t for everybody but there is no denying that he an eye for colour and patterns. At the end of the day it doesn’t matter what any onlookers think, this residence was created specifically for a couple who adore his style. Scroll down and take a tour inside!
