Transformed 1920s Family Home in Highland Park, TX Lists for $1.84M

4248 Potomac Avenue, Highland Park, Texas, United States, 75205

A charming 1920s family home in Highland Park, Texas is back on the market following a total home modernization in late 2016. The residence was last listed in early 2016 for $1,175,000 and sold for an undisclosed amount shortly after. The modernized house has just been relisted for $1,849,000. Strikingly altered from the street, the new black and white palette carries on into the interior spaces with refreshed living and dining rooms and a substantial new gourmet kitchen with center island. The home also gained an additional 585 square feet, bringing the new total to just under 3,300 square feet. There are four bedrooms, four full and one half bathrooms, including a private main floor master suite with his & her walk-in closets and quartz bathroom. We scoured the internet for old listing photos to get a glance at the original interiors, however, we could only find a single exterior photo. An old listing touts the home’s 60 x 150 foot treed, interior lot and suggests the home could be a potential tear down. Thankfully it was spared from demolition and stands to see another day. While both versions of the exterior are lovely in their own ways, it is disappointing original design elements were removed. One can only hope that the original wood windows, decorative moulding and columns at the front door were salvaged for other projects. The property is currently on the market for $1,849,000 with Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty.
