Vacant Plastic Covered Mansion in NJ

1138 Winding Drive, Cherry Hill, New Jersey, United States

A sprawling 20,000 square foot mansion in a ritzy Cherry Hill neighbourhood is creating quite the buzz.  Philly reports that the planned $2.4 million estate home has been sitting vacant and half finished for nearly five years, but it doesn’t stop there it’s also covered top to bottom in plastic.  It is owned by Deniece Williams, a Grammy-Award winning singer who is best known for her work in the 70s & 80s according to Philly.

A quick Google search revealed that the website MediaMass has labeled her as the highest-paid singer in the world.  They go on to say that Williams has taken the number 1 spot on People With Money’s top 10 highest paid singers of 2013 with an estimated $96 million in combined earnings.  The singer has permits on the property that are valid through the end of 2014, once they expire the township can do more to intervene.  One neighbour says she has seen animals crawling inside and that she suspects mold is growing under the plastic.  It’s reported that Williams does plan on finishing the mansion, but there is no word on when it’s expected to be completed.
