Villa Madrona Sells for $6.6 Million
North Saanich, British Columbia, Canada
One of Vancouver Island’s most unique private residences has sold after sitting on the market for more than eight years. The 15,761 square foot residence was custom-built on waterfront in North Saanich for Linda and Ralph Bodine according to Times Colonist. It was previously listed as high as $19.25 million & $9.985 million before dropping to $6.998 million earlier this year. The mansion is said to have sold for $6.6 million. Times Colonist noted that the sale of Villa Madrona makes it the highest price in the last three and a half years recorded by the Victoria Real Estate Board.
The unique mansion is situated on a 2-acre estate with a guest house, studio apartment, indoor swimming pool, home theatre, and a boat house. The main house includes unique touches such as corner niches from the original Vanderbilt Estate, and beautifully restored Irish Oak from the S.S. Britannic. Listing Agent Lisa Williams of Sotheby’s International Realty Canada told Times Colonist that the new buyers are originally from China but have been living in Victoria for a few years.
